Stunning Library Emerges from Ruins

Located in Bario Norte, Argentina, this 100-year-old theater was designed and opened in 1919. it held ballets and plays then fell into ruins after local interest in the arts wained. Then it was renovated and reopened as a movie theater. It has since been a music shop and events location, and even a ballet theater again. Recently, it was renovated once more, restoring even the painting and carvings on the ceiling, to become what National Geographic called the world's most beautiful bookstore. Hard to argue with that. Even the balconies hold books, and the box seats have been recreated so book browsers can have a private sit-and-read before taking their books to the counter for purchase.
